WR Police Hunt For Two Robbers

The Western Regional Police has launched a manhunt for two men who attacked and robbed the occupants of a house of both foreign and local currencies as well as other valuables.

The suspects, Yaw Asante, a former driver and an accomplice attacked Mr. Samuel Kwamena Boamah, a businessman, and other occupants of the house at Ithema Estates near Inchaban on the Accra – Takoradi road and allegedly stole 10,000 Euros, GH¢15,000 a company certificate documents covering five vehicles and an ignition key of a cherrolet Equinas, GS 5505 – 11.

Briefing the Times here yesterday, the Western Regional Crime Officer, Superintendent J. K. Abraham said, Asante was a former driver of Boamah, but was dismissed for an alleged embezzlement.

Supt. Abraham said the suspects in robbing the house also attacked Boamah’s 21-year-old wife, Faisal Boamah who is four months pregnant and stabbed her in the abdomen and the back several times, before bolting with their booty.

Faisal, he said, was rushed to the Effia Nkwanta Hospital, where she was admitted adding that she was responding to treatment.

Boamah was not at home at the time of the incident.

“We have intensified our investigations to arrest Asante and his accomplice”.
