Over a hundred pupils from the Star Basic School in Tema Community five took to the training grounds to witness baseball demonstration for the first time in their school.
The programme organized by Live Vision Baseball Academy International (LIVBAI) an NGO with the aim of developing and spreading baseball and softball throughout the country.
The introductory ceremony eventually put morning activities in the school on hold as pupils in the school troop to the training field to catch a gleam of the most talked about and fast developing game in the community.
The children where taken through drills like accurate throwing, catching, fielding and hitting in baseball game. They were also thought how to wear glove and hold bat correctly for effective baseball play.
The girls were not left out as they also took turn to learn few drills in the game of softball.
Mrs. Dora Agyemang, Heard teacher of the school, who could not seat still in her office due to the persistent cheers and excitement outside, came to the demonstrational grounds to verify what the game was all about.
Mrs. Agyemang, narrated that games of such nature helps both the children, teachers and parents a like to identify hidden talents in each individual which when harnessed and developed well can help the child in future.
She congratulated LIVBAI for introducing the game in the school and pledged her support to encourage the students to participate fully in it.

She was of the view that the game will develop and spread quickly when encouraged in public and private schools by the Ghana Education Service (GES) in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) through National Sports Authority (NSA) as it was done to football and other games in the schools.
Mr. Kingsley N. Sackey, Founder and Director of games, LIVBAI said the demonstrational game helps to identify raw talents in the children and also helps the children to prepare their minds and hearts towards the new game they will be playing.
Mr. Sackey explained that the vision of LIVBAI is to give hope to children through the game baseball and other motivational activities being embarked by the organisation.
The founder reiterated the need to give the children the chance to exercise by playing games of all different kinds in order to develop their God given talents and was of the view that baseball provides such an opportunity one can think of in sports.
