Silver Star Auto Limited Presents To Koforidua Polytechnic

Silver Star Auto Limited, an auto dealing firm has presented two sets of Mercedes Benz Automatic transmission unit to Koforidua Polytechnic Auto Department.

The Benz parts valued at GH¢30,000 is meant to assist the students of the Department in their practical lessons.

Mr. Farouk Ahmed, Commercial Vehicles and Workshop Manager said the donation was in response to a request made to the company by authorities of the school during a training tour of their workshop.

He said the fully dismantled Benz automatic transmission unit would be used during classroom study and demonstration periods “while the fully assembled set would be used during “dismantle and assemble” practical training sessions.

Mr Farouk Ahmed noted that the automobile industry was quickly evolving and that new and higher levels of technology were being introduced on regular basis.

He said the situation therefore calls for people in the industry including students aspiring to be future players to be adequately educated and be abreast with development.

“It was in view of that, he said, that Silver Star had for the past five years opened the doors of its workshop to a number of the Ghana polytechnic and technical institutions”, he said.

Mr Ahmed said students in the auto mechanics departments to undertake industrial training and tours at the various workshops to receive relevant literature to facilitate their studies.

Mr Seth Danso Attuah, Transport Officer of Koforidua Polytechnic who received the donation on behalf of the school thank the management of Silver Star for their kind gesture.

He said both machines will be used to the maximum benefit of the students in the auto department of the institution.
