In a bid to evoke healthy competitive competition amongst the budding talents and the student body in the school, the Seven Great Princess Academy yesterday began a three-day annual sports festival at the Kaneshie Sports Complex.
The year’s event which will have both the Lartebiokorshie branch joins hands with the Dansoman Exhibition branch to compete in football, sack race, tug of war, table tennis, basketball and athletics.
According to the Director of the school, Mr. Raphael Brown students in the senior high school would compete with their juniors in the junior high school.
He stated that while the school looks out to unearth hidden and budding talents in the school and to train for future national and international purposes, the sports festival is an annual programme which is to also instill the students body the culture of regular exercising which can eradicate diseases and keep them fit for classroom work.
The games which started yesterday with the athletics and ladies football will continue today with the pre-school and the lower primary departments of the two campuses engaging in indoor games like musical chairs, spoon-and-lime, and fill-in-the-bottle, sack race, tug of war, musical.
Also the boys and girls of the Senior High and Junior High Schools would come up in an all-play-all football gala at the Kaneshie Sports Complex.
Come tomorrow the final day for the games, all the action will return to the school’s headquarters at Dansoman for the basketball, table tennis and scrabble competition after which the three-day competition will end with the closing ceremony where prizes will be awarded to deserving students who distinguished them during the competition.
