Mrs. Owusu-Hemeng, headteacher of the Anumle Basic School, Accra is retiring from the teaching service as an Assistant Director of Education after 38 years of dedicated work.

At a send off party organised for her, Mr. Abokyi Kumah, supervisor of the Circuit 37 of the Ghana Education Service, described the out-going headteacher as a self-less, hardworking, mother and concerned teacher, who cared for both her pupils and teachers.

Describing her retirement as a big loss to the Ghana Education Service, he urged all teachers to emulate her virtues of commitment, dedication and special interest in the welfare of the pupils over the years.

An overwhelmed, Mrs. Owusu-Hemeng, mentioned that she was retiring as a satisfied and elated person, because of what she had been able to do for the past 38 years.

She paid tribute to all the teachers, pupils, parents and her family members whose contributions had helped her over the years to achieve all the successes that they had recounted.

Mrs. Owusu-Hemeng described teaching as a very noble profession, that trains all the doctors, lawyers, journalists, musicians, nurses, among others and therefore urged those in the service to continue to develop themselves to face future challenges squarely.

On behalf of the out-going headteacher, Mr. Isaac Owusu-Hemeng, her husband thanked the school for all the love and honour done to them and assured them of their continuous support and prayers.
