Rlg Tops All In ICT Sector

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) has ranked rlg Communications Leader in the Information Communication and Technology Sector in Ghana for the year 2011.

Rlg whose maiden entrance into the prestigious Ghana club 100 caused a stir, managed to displace several traditional names in the ICT sector who as well as financial institutions and insurance companies to attain the overall second place in the rankings, coming only after cocoa giant, produce buying company (PBC).

The 2011 Ghana Club 100 rankings also saw rlg being adjudged the Best Entrant in the club as well as the Fastest Growing Company in Ghana, bringing the total number of awards to four, despite being debutants.

The latest Ghana Club 100 rankings were unveiled at an event attended by the representatives of corporate sector and captains of industry in Accra.

The awards come just four days after rlg’s Chief Executive; Roland Agambire was decorated as the Marketing Man of the Year 2011.

At that same ceremony, rlg phones were adjudged Product of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG).

The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre used four criterions of turnover, return on equity and 3-year annual growth to determine a company’s size, growth and profitability.

An obviously elated Chief Executive of rlg, Roland Agambire told journalists after the event rlg is humbled by the honors.

He said the company was pleased to subject itself to best corporate governance practices such as transparency and accountability.

“We are have been challenged by these awards over the last few months. We can only express our gratitude to patriotic Ghanaians for the huge confidence posed in us”.

Rlg began operations some twelve years ago and currently remains the fist indigenous assembler of mobile phones and accessories with presence in Nigeria, the Gambia, china and Dubai.

The company assembles locally computer and laptop accessories as well as mobile phones.

Rlg’s corporate social gestures in recent years are unmatched by many businesses in Ghana, offering significant support to education, sports, road safety and the delivery of potable water in rural and peri-urban parts of the country through The Rlg Foundation.
