Reject Violence-Proned Politicians

Ghanaians have been cautioned to reject violence politicians by voting for leaders with integrity, truthful and high moral vulvas.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Jacob Kofi Ayeebo, Anglican Bishop of Tamale Diocese who gave this caution stressed that for the peace and unity that country was be enjoyed to be sustain, it was prudent for citizens to reject political leaders who may incite their followers and sympathizers into violence for their politician mileage and egotistical interest.

“Elect people who have subjected themselves to the rule of Christ’s Kingdom and reject those who may wish to incite us into violence for their mileage and people with evil agenda to divide the nation along religious and ethnic lines for their political convenience,” he emphasized.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Ayeebo was speaking at his Enthronment and Installation ceremony in Tamale at the weekend.

Dr. Ayeebo also challenged the clergy in the country to continue pray for successful election and counsel politicians and their supporters against unguided comments during the campaign.

“We must remain prayerful, united and unprovocative in our language during the period of the campaign and elections to ensure a free, fair, peaceful and transparent election to preserve the peace the country has enjoyed since independence,” he stated.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Ayeebo further entreated Ghanaians especially Christians not to shun from voting but rather come out in numbers to vote for a leader of their choice.

“May I remind you that our right to vote is a wonderful gift given to us by God, and that voting is not a political privilege, right and responsibility to uphold but it is also an expression of our faith for it is a stewardship issue”, the Bishop explained.

He added that the penalty that good men pay for showing little or no interest in politics was to be governed by men worse than themselves.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Ayeebo condemned the attempt by many people to tag politics as dirty saying there was nothing dirty about politics and thereby challenged men with integrity and high moral vulvas to indulge into politics as it was empower them to take right decision to better the lives citizens.

He also called on all qualify Ghanaians to come out and register in the biometric registration exercise when the time comes.

The Acting Northern Regional Minister Mr. Mark Wayongo on his appealed to the clergy to continue for the progress and prosperity of the country.
