The Post Annual Ghana Banking Awards Presentation aimed at stimulating healthy competition among banks was held in Accra on Tuesday.

The presentation is also meant to give public recognition to banks that are excelling in various areas, for improved public confidence in the banking sector.

It forms part of a survey carried by a team of independent researchers whose duty primarily focuses on the award criterion.

In addition the presentation affords stakeholders and representatives from the various banks to bring on table concerns and suggestions on the way forward of the awards.

It was put together by corporate Initiative Ghana, a non- profit organisation supported by a group organisation supported by a group of corporate bodies a operating in various sectors of the Ghanaian economy to help in the creation of an excellent corporate environment.

This year’s Awards which was under the theme “Leveraging LCT to transform the Financial Service Sector presented awards to many financial institutions who have excelled in different categories of banking activities.

Mr. Afotey Odarteifio, the Executive Secretary of Corporate Initiative Ghana said the presentations provides an equal playing field for all banks to present their activities in a proper way to make them open for analysis.

He said the awards challenged prospective banks to work towards satisfying their customers and push them to go beyond regular yearly performance.

Mr. Odarteifio said the CIG would continue to improve standards by conducting surveys and introduction of telephone interview to enhance efficiency.
