Hajia Dr. Khartumi Mahama, a former Director of Education, has appealed to Muslim parents to put high premium on the education of their daughters.
“Train the children to cherish the values of self-disciplined, honesty hard work and to fear Allah,” she said. At the 7th annual regional conference of the Ghana Muslim Mission in Accra last week under the theme: “Forging forward in unity and love.” Hajia Mahama was the guest speaker.
She said Allah has enjoined them as Muslims to be united so that they could achieve their goals and “without unity” we cannot build a solid foundation.”
“Over the years the mission has successfully proven that we have many positive contributions to make not only to the group but also to the larger society,” she noted.
She said the mission believes in honesty, hard work and commitment to causes that are just, progressive and beneficial to society and advised that nothing should go into individual pockets through unlawful means.
She called on Muslims to keep their surroundings clean so as to encourage healthy lifestyle.
Shiekh Haruna Nkansah, National Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission said the challenge facing the mission now related to the completion of a library complex.
He, therefore called on members to pool their resources for them to complete the project on time.
Alhaji Amuyawo Lamptey, Chief Executive Officer of Zatuna F/C and chairman for the occasion, urged Muslims to live in peace with one another as Allah expects from all.
