GOD the creator of the universe dispenses specific gifts and talents to people at will and for different reasons.

Having done that, it rests with the recipient to improve on the gift received. This is what Owiredu Kissi, a former student of Okwapeman Senior High School, who has a creative talent has to concentrate on.

From his ingenuity and creativity, he has written a movie for his school which was included in the first Ananseman Playhouse Competition.
In the movie, titled “Once Upon A Campus,” Kissi, the main character is the Students’ Representative Council President.

During his tenure, the school undergoes a serious food crisis and the SRC president succeeds in acquiring some money from the old students to help address the problem.

Most often in life, some people take insignificant issues very seriously and overreact in the process.

A student who fails to win the SRC presidency but ends up as the Financial Secretary, becomes angry and attempts to disgrace the sitting president.

This aggrieved student contrives a plan by planting a lady around the president to embarrass him and also cause his dismissal.

To some extent, the SRC president becomes embarrassed since he finds it difficult to provide the cheque.

The situation gets out of control as the school plans a demonstration against the SRC president. As the demonstration gets underway, the culprit who stole the cheque gets arrested at the bank when she attempts to cash the money.

The award winner, who employs creativity to his role, succeeds in winning the hearts of many viewers of the movie.

Owiredu Kissi intends to get a profession and in addition include film production in future adds that the award opens doors for him.

He deplores nude scenes in Ghanaian movies and believes such scenes bring untold disgrace to the country. “Hollywood portrays the beauty of the United States, so why should we do things contrary to our culture,” he said.

Owiredu says the youth are constantly going into theatre arts, adding that there is the need to uplift its image in the country for Ghanaians to benefit from its entertainment values.

He is grateful to Ananseman Playhouse for the platform given him and many young ones to demonstrate their love for movies.
