Oweri Mines Company in Konongo in the Asante Akyem North Municipality of Ashanti has donated additional facilities to the Konongo Police.

With facilities including six toilets and six bathrooms, the project estimated at about GHC100, 000 and is to replace the old structure which had never seen any renovation since it was put up in 1940.

Handing over the facility to the Police at the weekend, the Project Manager of the Company, Mr. Roger Bannister, said the company also plans to build houses to accommodate personnel transferred to the municipality as well as toilets and shower facilities.

He was certain that the rest of the projects would soon be completed to enable the police discharge their duties effectively to enhance national development.

The Konongo District Police Commander, Anaba Salifu was full of praise for the mining company saying the facility had provided them with comfort and brought to an end the queuing of personnel when they wanted to visit the lavatories.

Nana Batafo Acheampong, Chief of Konongo, thanked the company for the gesture and appealed to the police to ensure the regularmaintenance of the structure.
