OSAGYEFO Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Okyenhene has elevated the regent of Kwabeng, Nana Adjei Twum, to the status of Gyantuahene of the Akyem Abuakwa at Kibi, in the Eastern Region.
The elevation of the 58-year-old chief, known in private life as Dickson Adjei Twum, and also the Chief Executive Officer of the MacDick Royal Plaza in Koforidua came as no surprise to many considering the level of development he has led the people in Kwabeng to record and the level of maturity he has demonstrated as a regent of Kwabeng, over the past 17 years.
The short but impressive ceremony at the Okyehene’s palace last Monday attracted people from all walks of life, including politicians, chiefs , family members and friends.
Nana Adjei swore the oaths of office, secrecy and allegiance, before the chiefs and people of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area.
Nana Adjei Twumi assured the chiefs and people of his readiness to promote development in the area.
He again promised to work hand in hand with his colleagues to bring unity to Akyem Abuakwa as well as make his entrepreneurial skills available to the youth to enable them create jobs in the area.
Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori advised Nana Adjei to respect all and sundry.
