Eleven students from the Certified Institute of Shipping of Nigeria on a study tour of the Regional Maritime Academy at Teshie-Nungua, have paid a visit to the New Times Corporation.

They called on the Editor of the Ghanaian Times Mr. Enimil Ashon, who challenged them to have confidence in themselves and raise the image of Africa high, stressing that Ghana and Nigeria had been in good relationship before they were colonized.

He said it was time the two countries strengthened this friendship and as students they formed the bedrock of Africa’s development.

Mr. Ashon said Africa was a great continent and that all Africans should be proud that literacy started in Africa before it spread to the rest of the world.

The Group Editorial Manager of Corporation Mr. Harry Reynolds took the students round to see its operations.

He said the media in Africa faced many challenges which made their work difficult but the corporation would remain focused to achieve its goal.

He advised the students to be disciplined in pursuit of their chosen profession and always have the wellbeing of Africa at heart.
