NDC Campaign Team Assigns Roles

The Campaign Team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has defined roles for all stakeholders in the party towards campaigning for victory at the December elections.

The move is part of strategies strategy to ensure team work among the national and regional leaders of the party to ensure effective campaign.

Consequently, the Campaign team has held a crunch meeting with all regional executives of the party to map out strategies for the campaigning in the regions.

The meeting, which was held in Accra on Friday, also ensured that there would be harmony in the campaign work across the regions.

As part of the meeting, which was held behind closed doors, the Campaign Team brainstormed with the regional executives to fashion out ways for effective collaboration among the rank and file in the regions.
    
The meeting, was also to let them know the roles they could play in their various regions to ensure victory for the NDC.

Briefing the media before the meeting, Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, National Campaign Coordinator said expressed optimism of victory for the party in 2012, but noted that “we are not taking things for granted.”

 He said the party needed team work and the assistance of all especially those at the grassroots so as to secure a resounding victory.

Touching on the essence of the meeting, Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah noted that it was to synergize the contributions of all the regional executives who are expected to lead the campaign in the regions.

In addition, he said the meeting was to offer the regional executives the opportunity to fine-tune their regional campaign plans.

Mr. Afriyie-Ankrah, who is also the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, invited members of the party to make suggestions were necessary to keep the team on track, saying “we need everybody on board.”

He lauded the cadres of the party for their loyalty and assured them of support in promoting the party at the grassroots level.

The Campaign Coordinator also urged all Ghanaians to trust President Mahama and give him the mandate to enable him to continue from where late President Mills left off.

Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, General Secretary of NDC and Chairman of the Campaign Team, urged the members of the NDC to trust and support the team as it worked for the party’s victory.

Mr. Asiedu Nketiah, said the campaign team would put in its best, and urged all to come on board to secure victory for the party.

Charles Nkansah, Operations Coordinator of Volunteers for Mahama, an organisation dedicated to ensuring victory for President Mahama in the December elections, entreated people to join the group.
