The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, has presented 75 motorbikes to members of the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly to facilitate their work.
Mr Mark Amoako distributed Dompreh, Municipal Chief Executive, and Mr William Neequaye, Presiding Member, the bikes during the first ordinary meeting of the assembly at Nsawam in the Eastern Region.
Briefing the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Dompreh said the motorbikes, formed part of the government’s “Better Ghana” agenda and would enable the members to reach their constituents.
He ured the assembly members to continue to educate the people on the need for a peaceful election in December as they did during the Biometric Voter Registration exercise.
Mr. Neequaye commended the Ministry of Local Government for the provision of the motorbikes, noting that the gesture would go a long way to help members to be punctual at assembly sessions. GNA
