AS part of Melcom’s quest to offer more world class brands at the best affordable prices, it has partnered with the global electronic giant, Sharp, for the sale and distribution of its range of electronic and home appliance products in Ghana. 

At a press conference in Accra to announce the partnership, the Joint Group Managing Director of Melcom, Mr. Ramesh Sadhwani, noted that the Sharp brand of products is not new in Ghana and is already recognised in the market as of very high quality with modern, up-to-date design with state-of-the-art technology. 

“We at Melcom are confident that we can promote the brand successfully in the market and distribute the range throughout the country. 

He noted that the long and ever growing list of international brands represented by Melcom manifests the overall competence the company had shown and which had gingered international companies like Sharp to partner with it.

The Chairman of Sharp, Middle East and Africa, Mr. Hiroshi Sasaoka, made the pledge at a press conference jointly held by Sharp and its local partner, Melcom Group.

He said attracted by Ghana’s sustainable and stable business environment, the Japanese electronics giant chose Ghana as its gateway to get to the 16-member Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) sub-region with its consumer electronic products.

According to him, Ghana’s economic boom, with its enabling business environment made the country a very lucrative market for the company.

He said as the leader in LCD TV industry, Sharp plans to introduce its wide range of products to suit all household requirements, and these include LCD televisions ranging from 20 inches to 70 inches .

He continued that Sharp is the only 10th generation LCD paneling manufacturer and with this the Japanese electronics maker has the advantage of technology, quality and price which translates into the most comprehensive range of LCDs for Ghana.
