Liberty Professionals crushed Heart of Lions 5-1 at the Carl Reindorf Park on Saturday to push up the standings in the Glo Premier League.
A brace by Latif Salifu and a goal each from Francis Morton, Ebirama Kamara and Issah Yakubu sealed victory for coach J.E. Sarpong's side while Daniel Bonsu grabbed a consolation for Lions.
Latif opened the scoring after 11 minutes before Morton made it 2-0 with three minutes to end the first half.
Back from recess, it took Liberty nine minutes to score again through Kamara.
Lions pulled a goal back after Bonsu struck in the 62nd minute.
Latif was on hand again to make it 4-1, scoring his second goal in the game before Yakubu sealed the big win in the 85lkth minute.
This was the second time in the league that Liberty had scored five past an opponent. In the match-day-6 fixture of the first round, they defeated Bechem United 5-0.
*Wassaman's hopes of lifting themselves out of the relegation zone was dealt a big blow on Saturday after losing 1-0 to Ebusua Dwarfs at the Len Clay Stadium.
The loss was their 13th of the season and it keeps them rooted at the bottom of the Glo Premier League standings with six games remaining.
Bismark Asiedu's 65th minute goal handed Dwarfs the win, their first in seven games after a run of six consecutive defeats since match-day-18 in February.
For Wassaman, the remaining six games in the season will define their debut premier league campaign.
