The Public Procurement Authority has conferred an award on the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in recognition of its commendable performances.
The hospital has moved from the “Matured Stage” to the “Excellent Stage” of the benchmarking ladder of the Public Procurement Model of Excellence Tool in the implementation of the Public Procurement Act 2003 (ACT663) from 2006-2008.
The Authority, noted that KATH has a well established procurement unit and staff with in-depth knowledge and capacity in the current procurement procedure and it had achieved tremendous success as far as procurement is concerned.
It further observed that the hospital had acquired knowledge in the usage of e-procurement planning which enables it to post its annual procurement plan which facilitates the work of the Authority whenever the needs arise.
Presenting a plaque to the management of the hospital on Monday, Mr. Frank Boateng, acting Supply Chain Manager, of KATH, was full of hope that the Hospital would live above expectation to be the example for other of public institutions.
Receiving the plaque, the Chief Executive of KATH, Prof Ohene Adjei, reiterated their determination to make the Hospital a centre of excellence not only in Ghana but in the African continent in general.
He, therefore, commended the procurement staff for their “praiseworthy efforts” and hoped they would continue with their good work.
