Opponent for Ghana’s Braimah ‘Bukom Banku’, Kamako - Hamza Wandera, a Sweden-based Ugandan, has threatened to ‘eat banku’ live on stage tomorrow.

He said banku is his favourite meal and fighting against an opponent named Banku, will be one of his easiest tasks in the ring.

The two boxers are billed to fight tomorrow evening at the Accra Sports Stadium in GoldenMike Promotions night of ‘Moment of Truth’. Their bout will be the main event and they will battle for the WBO Africa light heavyweight championship belt.

Wandera made this threat during a press conference in Accra yesterday to outdoor the boxers and other fighters billed to fight on the same night.

In response to the threat, Braimah Kamoko, said his opponent may eat his favorite meal but will definitely vomit it back after the bout.

As comical as he is, Banku pleaded with the manager of his opponent to advise him to withdraw from the fight because he will be the first boxer who would really feel the true pain of his punches.

Chief Executive Officer of GoldenMike Promotions, Michael Tetteh, assured the media and spectators of maximum security and called on all Ghanaians and boxing fans to be present to cheer their fighters on.

In a speech read on behalf of the CEO of Golden Concept Management International, called on government to do all it can to provide boxing fans with an arena. This, he said, was one of the many reasons boxing patronage had reduced.

He, however, announced that his outfit was looking forward to stage a world title fight for former world champion Joseph Agbeko in May this year.

In all, six fights will be staged on the night which include Ghana’s Joshua Okine and Amiltar Funes from Argentina for the IBF I/C welterweight title. Samuel Amoako of Ghana will also take on Martin Haikali for the WBO Africa lightweight championship.

The enterprising Ebenezer Lamptey will lock horns with Eduardo Flores from Ecuador in a WBO Africa super lightweight championship. The game boy, Emmanuel Tagoe will also fight Miguel Caceres from Argentina in a super featherweight contest.

The night will also feature a national featherweight title fight between Ishmael Aryeetey and Hope Mawuli.
