Holy Shalom Academy Celebrates 12th Anniversary

The Holy Shalom Academy, a private co-educational basic institution at Adjei-kojo, near Ashaiman, has celebrated its 12th anniversary and graduation on the theme: “Celebrating the fullness of our quiver”.

In an address, Mr. Francis A. Mishiame, a Circuit Supervisor at the Tema Metro Directorate of Education, commended the management of the school for its efforts at educating children in the community.

He urged them to adhere strictly to the Ghana Education Service rules and regulations governing management of schools in the country.

Mr. Mishiame advised the teachers to take advantage of the numerous in-service courses organised by the education directorates as well as the distance education programmes of the universities, to upgrade themselves.

He advised the pupils also to take their studies seriously, avoid bad habits and refrain from excessive watching of television and movies, love affairs and the get rich syndrome.

Mr. Mishiame urged parents to make the education of their children their highest priority.

The headmaster of the school, Mr. Abraham Larseh, disclosed that the school obtained 100 per cent passes in the 2009 and 2010 Basic Education Certificate Examination.

He said the school has plans to set up an ultra modern computer and science laboratories, and the teaching of entrepreneurship, so that the children will be trained to set up their own businesses in future.

The pupils treated the audience to drama, poetry recital and dancing.

The pupils as part of programme towards the celebration organised a clean up exercises at medical facilities and went on a float.
