The Hohoe branch of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has organised clinics to sensitise the public on its services.
The two-day events dubbed, ‘Customer clinics’, was held at both Hohoe and Kpando.
Mr. Victor Kodzo Agbenu, the branch manager, said the workshop was to ensure that the scheme had a credible and sustainable data base.
He regretted that over the years, the scheme had been bedevilled with incredible data, thus causing delays in the payment of claims to its members.
However, the scheme had since last year embarked on an exercise to clean the system, and the clinics were to afford members the opportunity to interact with SSNIT officials and had anomalies in the contributor data corrected.
He asked members of the scheme to visit their offices and ensure that their names, the names their beneficiaries and their addresses were correct.
Mr. Agbenu also appealed to employees to ensure that their actual social security contributions were paid, warning that employers would be liable for prosecution if they under-declared their workforce.
He further called on defaulting organisations to clear their indebtedness with the scheme as soon as possible, to avoid falling foul of the law.
