Sixty-seven widows of Asuokaw, near Asamankese, had something to cheer about when they were on Tuesday presented with food items worth about GH¢6,500 for the celebration of the New Year.
Doctor Christopher Dankwah, a herbal practitioner of the Doctor Dankwah Medical Clinic at Kade, gave the widows a parcel of five kilogrammes of rice, mackerel, cooking oil and tin tomatoes each.
The recipients ages from 70 and above included Madame Charity Agbenefa, 110; Madam Dede, 101, and Madam Sarah Okyere 99.
Theywere full of smiles as they received their gifts and expressed profound gratitude to Doctor Dankawh for the gesture

Doctor Dankawh explained that he was following a Biblical injunction that special attention and care should be given to widows and orphans.
