The Takrowase Catholic Primary School in the Denkyembuo District of the Eastern Region is to be provided a GHC 277,306 six-unit classroom block, to replace the dilapidated one in use at the moment.
The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr Baba Jamal, has broken the ground for work to start on this GET-FUND project, which will have a library, a computer laboratory, a staff common room and places of convenience.
He remared that it “is only through education that every nation can progress, but then, if a child studied in a harsh environment, nothing much can be achieved”.
Mr Baba Jamal commended the Catholic Church for its schools which have provided education and enlightenment to millions of Ghanaians.
“I had my education from kindergarten through the Senior High School, all in Catholic schools,” he disclosed.
In attendance was the District Chief Executive of Kwaebibirem, Mr Reginald Osae, who is currently overseeing the Denkyembuo District.
Over half of the 66 projects currently going on in the Kwaebibirem District, are school blocks.
