The Founder and Director of Life Vision Baseball Academy International (LIVBAI) Mr. Kingsley N Sackey has reiterated on his philosophy that “sports is a medicine for the body” and added that children are the ultimate beneficiaries.
“Children should not be deprived of their daily exercise at home and in the schools through activities like athletics, baseball, volleyball ect”
He therefore called on schools heads especially private ones to engage their pupils in activities as a means of enhancing their talent.
The Director made this known during a ceremony to introduce baseball game to over one hundred pupils of Dorsens school complex, community one Tema, in Accra on Friday.
According to the Founder the programme is a basic routine undertaken by his organization as a means of sustaining the interest of the game in the children as well as preparing their minds and hearts to partake in the actual game and also compete with other schools.
Mr. Sackey was against those who turned to underrate and speaks ill of the game describing it as ”unprofitable, time wasting, expensive and dangerous” but was of the view that every new development is full of risk but with determination there is always a break through.
He asked the children to be focused and not lose hope in playing baseball even when their friends call them names but be determining to make a mark.
“Never lose hope for destructive mind is always confused but with determination success is the ultimate goal of a stable mindset.”
The Founder told the children that, the game is among the riches paid sport in the world but surprisingly lack the needed attention, publicity and sponsorship that it deserve to promote and spread the game in the country.
He said ,gone are their days football used to be the’ passion of the nation’ but now other sports like baseball, cricket, volleyball, ice skating, ice hockey, hockey, basketball, beach soccer, swimming ,shooting, polo, cycling, and others have become a delighted events to watch and authorities in charge must do all they could to help develop and sustain it.
The pupils were very delighted, eager, ready to feel and play the game as they were being taking through baseball drills and shown baseball documentary for the first time and later responded very loudly to the slogan “its all about baseball , its all about baseball, its all about baseball.
The Founder thanked the school authorities for seeing the future of baseball in the country and allowing and embracing the game in their school.
