The Deputy Minister for Water Resources Works and Housing and Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East Dr. Mustapha Ahmed has donated educational items worth 1,500 to Junior High Schools in his constituency.

The schools which were made up of Kanda Cluster of Schools, Nima Cluster of School, institute of Islamic Studies Al-Walleed Compound, Mount Zion School among others received a set of mathematical set, Books, pens, pencils and erasers each.

Briefing the media, Dr. Ahmed Said, the items were to aid the pupils in their studies particularly the final year Pupils to support them in writing their final year Examination.

He said, it is his desire to see schools in his constituency progressing in education, and advised the pupils to put up good moral beaviour for a brighter future, adding that God has no bad motive for any one but through hard work and humility, they shall achieve their desire.

As part of the donation, he presented a cheque of GH¢3,105, from his MPs Common Fund to assist poor but brilliant students in his constituency from primary to the tertiary level.

Dr. Ahmed urged, the pupils to be courageous and morally discipline as they prepare to write the Basic examination Certificate (BECE), and advice them not to take any foreign material to the exams hall since it can tarnish the good academic excellence of the school.

Receiving the items on behalf of the schools, Ms Agnes Nasamu, chairperson for Ayawasi East educational development committee said, the Minister has been punctual to their call, and has been a great source of moral to the youth in the constituency, adding that without him most of the schools in the constituency would have been financially weak which could have affected the academicals performance of the pupils.

She commended the MP for his honourable gesture and appealed to him and the government for more assistance stressing that she would make sure that every item given to the schools are carefully managed for effective development.

In an interview with Times, one of the final year pupils, Akorfa Pomevor, expressed her gratitude to the M.P for the support and assured him of exbitting good moral discipline during the exams, adding that they would make good use of the donation for better academic excellence.
