The National Chief Imam,Dr Osmanu Sheikh Nuhu Sharubutu has commended the Christian Council of Ghana for their benevolent act of purchasing a dialysis machine for the 37 Military Hospital for public use.
He has urged Muslims to do same.
Dialysis Machine is used to remove waste and excess water from the body and serves as artificial replacement for people suffering from renal failure as a result of kidney malfunction.
“I make a special appeal to the well to Muslims in Ghana to contribute their quota on this great initiatives, Certainly Allah ,the Almighty will reward you each time a person is being attended to on the machine,” Sheikh Sharubutu said in statement issued to the press dated March24.
The National Chief Imam called on Muslims to pray for perpetual peace and development “as we march towards intensive campaign period in 2012.”
“Muslims and non-Muslims enjoy peaceful ambience, tolerance and understanding with religious counterparts and other faith groups on Ghana,” the statement said.
“We should not compromise on these characteristic of our nation’s development that can only warrant our progress and prosperity to the desired heights,” it added.
“My dear brothers and sisters and fellow Ghanains, God the Almighty has chosen Ghana for Ghanaians and for anyone who aspires and wish for the betterment and development of Ghana, “the statement added.
Dr Sharubutu,therefore,called on regional and district Imams to incorporate the teaching of religious tolerance and understanding, religious education on poverty eradication, youth empowerment and human rights in their daily preaching and Friday sermons.
