Branch Manager Embezzles Money And Flees

A 26-year-old, Eugene Addo Larteh, who is the branch manager of Market Direct Company, is alleged to have stolen GH¢199,824.60 from the company and went into hiding since June 2011.

Briefing the Spectator on, the Eastern Regional Police PRO, Chief Inspector Yaw Nketia-Yeboah, said the company deals in food and beverages and the suspect is the Manager at the Nkawkaw branch in the Kwahu West district of the Eastern Region.

He said an audit was carried out at the branch on June 3, 2011 and it was discovered that Addo Larteh, the suspect could not account for assorted goods which comprised bags of rice, spagartti, cooking oil, biscuits , and soft drinks all valued at Gh¢199,824.60.

The PRO said when the suspect was questioned by the auditors; he said he had credited the items to some customers of the company, contrary to the regulations of the company.

He said the suspect later fled when he heard that the matter had been reported to the police.

Chief Inspector Yeboah said the suspect; Eugene Addo Larteh is a native of Anum Boso in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region. He is dark in complexion, stout, has brown eyes and stands at about 5 feet 8 inches all.

He, therefore, appealed to the public to assist the police to arrest him.
