Thirty two students from the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem constituency who have gained admission to senior high schools, have been given scholarship worth GH¢4,000 per term, with effect from 2010/2011 academic year.

The scholarship was awarded through the Dr Joseph S. Annan and Elizabeth Aba Annan Memorial Educational Fund.

The Fund, established by Dr J.S. Deputy Minister of Education and his sister, is in memory of their late parents and provides financial support to needy but brilliant school children.

So far, scholarships have been given to 65 students under the fund.

Mr Samuel Nana Sarpong, Secretary of the Fund, appealed to the students to study hard to justify the investments made in them.

He said the desire to become future leaders would not happen suddenly, but by dint of hard work and discipline.

Mr Moses Nartey, Headmaster of Ampenyi Senior High School, thanked Dr Annan who is also the Member of Parliament for the area, and his sisters for instituting the scheme.

He told the beneficiaries that the sustainability of the scheme would depend on their performance and asked them to take their studies serious.
