AME Church Holds 73rd Annual Conference

The Seventy-third annual conference of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church and the Fourteenth Episcopal District Annual Conference was jointly held at the church premises at Kwashieman in Accra.

The four-day conference was under the theme: ‘It is No Secret What God Can Do’. It was attended by about five hundred members of the church and representatives from some West African countries.

The Presiding Prelate, Bishop David R. Daniels, Jnr. based in the United States of America who addressed the opening ceremony, last Thursday reminded Christians that, “the mouth of the righteous is a fountain and should not be used to say bad things to others but we should try as much as possible to live as God’s people.”

The participants including the Clergy, members and the youth also reviewed the church’s evangelism growth and development, Christian education, youth concerns property and deed and the state of the Church and the Country.

The rest are social, civil and political action and ecology temperance and health.

Bishop Daniels, said the scriptures reminds Christians that the word to make us successful is in our mouth and advised us not to say filthy and unholy words to ourselves and relations, “for whatever you believe is what you receive”.

He added that, death and life are are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. (Prov. 18.21).
Bishop Daniels Jnr, reminded the false prophets who say things that God did not say to be careful of their words.

On his part Rev. Michael Okyne, Pastor In -Charge of Ebenezer A.M.E church at Cape Coast revealed that, christians should always say the truth to themselves for they have been commissioned to go and spread the gospel to all.

He said “we need to evangelize so that the church can grow and there is the need to raise funds for evangelism”.

“Those who win souls shall shine like stars “, he added.
