The 20th Anniversary celebration of the Akatsi Senior High Technical School was on Saturday launched at an impressive ceremony at Akatsi in the Volta region.

The anniversary theme, “Education, A Key to Development, The Role of the stakeholder will come off February 25, next year.

The Akatsi District Director of Education Edmond Gbetodeme in a speech read on his behalf at the launch called on the students to let the celebrations mark the turning point in their lives.

Educational development of a society he said depends largely on the co-operation between the student, the community as well as the school authorities and the government to effective collaborate to achieve results.

“It is for these reasons that as students you must always ensure to make maximum effort to take what the school offers so that you can also give in return when you leave after the studies,” he added.

Mr. Gbetodeme urged them not to always think of what the school can offer them but what they can offer the school.

The headmaster, Gamya-A. S Ladzekpo in his opening remarks said the school despite its numerous challenges clocked 100 percent in the 2011 West African Secondary School Certificate Examinations.

He cited some of the challenges as lack of boarding facilities and classroom’s which has caused massive overcrowding in the structures.

Mr. Ladzekpo therefore called on the all stakeholders to come to the aid of the school while commending the Patients Teachers Association, The Member of Parliament of the Area, the District Assembly for their efforts.

The Member of Parliament of Akatsi Doe Adjaho used the occasion to donate 10 computers and accessories and 30 street lamps to the school.
