The Member of Parliament for the Abirem Constituency of the Eastern Region, Madam Esther Dapaah has donated 40 spraying machines and accessories worth Gh¢32,000.00 to farmers in a selected communities in the area.
The communities include Amoa, Nkwaba, Amoana Praso, Okaikrom, Mpintimpinti, Ntronang, Hweakwae, Adausena, Old Abirem, Bepotuntum, Trintrim and Kontonanse.
Making the presentation at the New Abirem on Monday, the MP said the donation was to assist the farmers spray their farms and also to avoid conflicts with the spraying gangs.
She urged the people in the area to stop tagging and naming items and assistance given them because the items had no political undercurrent but something to help boost the farmers production.
Receiving the items on behalf of the farmers, Mr. Michael Opoku thanked the MP and described her as a good mother who knows the plights of her children.
He also enumerated some of the assistance the MP had given to the people, especially farmers.
He said the MP had assisted the people of Amoa and Amoana Praso to get their farm produce easily transported to the market centres by grading the Amoa Noyam roads.
“She also assisted us to get a grader from the District Assembly, fuelling it and paying for the others expenses to upgrade our farm roads for us,” Mr. Opoku said.
