5 Visually Impaired Students Excel At Okuapeman

The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has given  a personal donation of GH¢100 to each of five visually impaired students of the Okuapeman SHS at the 54th speech and prize giving day at Akropong Akuapem on Saturday, for coming tops in their various classes

They were given various prizes and the Minister was so touched with their performances that he had no option than to assist them also.

The recipients are Carruthers Tetteh, Juliana Mohammed, Ebenezer Azumah, Victor Aklema and Sandra Birikorang.

Mr Ofosu Ampofo said what moved him was Ebenezer Azumah emerging the overall best third year student in literature over and above colleague students without any eyes defects.

“I am much amazed to see the visually impaired completing fairly with students with sight and coming out the best,” he intimatedd.

In all, there are 68 visually impaired students in Okuapeman SHS.
